Surely a bad news for all Vfone users, PTCL authorities have announced that from 31st August all Vfone services will be ended and Vfone will be shutdowned for good. Vfone was company’s wireless voice and sms service provider but it is said that Vfone wasn’t generating the revenue they targeted for.

Now it’s been said that the decision has been taken for expansion of EVO services of PTCL. Vfone was operated on WLL (wireless local loop) technology and now the same technology will be utilized for EVO services of PTCL. Users of Vfone were pretty satisfied from the services of Vfone as it offered clear voice and economical packages. The biggest advantage of VFONE was that it was not vulnerable to technical faults which we notice in landline numbers. Due to wireless technology its services and downtime was very less.

PTCL has informed its Vfone customers that Vfone services won’t be available after 31st August. PTCL will surely lose most of the Vfone users as Vfone users dislike landline. Although PTCL is giving free of cost landline numbers to Vfone users as compensation but the idea won’t work. Most of the Vfone users belong from remote areas where landline is unreachable so PTCL will definitely lose those customers as well.

Another property of Vfone was that it was mobile and could be taken anywhere but landline numbers can’t be moved out. PTCL’s EVO services are giving more revenue to the company that’s why company is concentrating more on the EVO services especially after introduction of 3G and 4G services. There are 1.1 million Vfone users while the landline customers are 2.9 million.
