“The Reluctant Fundamentalist” is a political movie by Mira Nair. Since the political and nationalist topic of the movie, its songs are also written to go with the theme. There are four major songs sung by all well-known singers such as, “Mori Araj Suno” “and “Bol keh Lab Azad hain” by Atif Aslam, “Dil Jalany Ki Baat” by Ali Sethi, “Kehendy De” by Zahra Khan while Mesha Shafi has sung “Bijli aye na aye” for the movie.

“Mori Araj Suno”

Pakistan/Indian favorite pop-star and film actor, sings two brilliant songs for this movie, one of them is “Mori Araj”. His voice quality and talent has made these songs hits in the upcoming charts. “Mori Araj” music is given by “ Micheal Andrews” while the cinematographer is “Declan Quinn”. The song theme is based on a plea to God.

“Dil Jalany Ki Baat”

Ali Sethi is a Harvard boy with fresh and sexy voice. He is basically related to writing, therefore a columnist, novelist and a journalist and now a singer too. The song also has a serious subject and thus a serious tone.

“Kehendy Ne”

“Kehendy Ne” is sung by Zahra Khan. The song is heart-touching and is again a serious song with a different note. “Kehendy Ne” is a Punjabi song which means ‘’ it is said”.

“Bijli Aye na Aye”

“Bijli” is a sweet song by the “Jugni-fame” Meesha Shafi. She is a bollywood, Hollywood and Lollywood artist at the same time. Her voice is different and thus appeals everyone.  “Bijli Aye na Aye” is a satirical song on Pakistan government, who has deprived their citizens of the basic necessity like electricity.
On the whole all the songs from “The Reluctant Fundamentalist” are good and go with the subject of the movie. But the best of them is “ Mori Araj Suno” as it is sung in a manner that it literally takes the listener to the world of saints and “peers” to whom the singer is pleading
