While it is all over the news that the world record for fastest ODI hundred that Shahid Afridi had for the last 17 years has been broken but there were no comments by Shahid Afridi yet.

Shahid Afridi expressed his views on this by saying that he expected West Indian batsman Chris Gayle or David Warner of Australia to break his world record and he even did not heard the name of Corey Anderson before.

As of 1st January 2014, the record is broken by Corey Anderson of New Zealand against West Indies. He did it only in 36 balls and got the record for fastest ODI hundred to his name.

Shahid Afridi while he was only 16 years old, had scored fastest ODI century in Nairobi against Sri Lanka by playing only 37 balls. It was only his second ODI match when he achieved this feat.

Shahid Afridi praised Corey Anderson for his brilliant effort along with the comment that he never heard of this player before and this is the first time he is heard his name.

He further said that his nephew told him about the news that his fastest ODI hundred record has been broken and that it requires a lot of guts to score a fast century like this.

Afridi said that records are meant to be broken one day and that he knew that the record will be broken one day but he expressed that he wished that the record would break after his retirement.

Afridi said he wishes that any other Pakistani batsman could break the world record for fastest ODI hundred and can make the nation proud once again.
