Saudi Crown Prince Visits Pakistan

Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud visited Pakistan on Saturday. He currently is the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Prime Minister Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif received him at the airport. Saudi Crown Prince was invited by Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud serves deputy prime minister as well as minister for defense of Saudi Arabia.
During his three days stay in Pakistan, Saudi Crown Prince will meet Minister for Defense, Minister for Finance, Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan, Advisor to Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs and of course Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif.
Foreign Office spokesperson told media that Saudi Crown Prince will hold talks with President and Prime Minister of Pakistan as well.
What agenda does this visit have in bag? It seems that aim of this visit is to hold talks in order to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interests. The particular dimension would be expanding investment and trade between the two countries. Businessmen accompanying Saudi Crown Prince will hold meetings with Pakistani businessmen and business development departments of Pakistan in order to enhance the business strategies.
It is hugely expected that the talks will also discuss the matters regarding export of Pakistani labor force to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and also to facilitate 1.5 Million Pakistanis who are currently residing and working in Saudi Arabia.
For the past couple of years Saudi Arabia has brought strictness to its laws due to which a huge number of foreign workers including huge number of Pakistanis working illegally in Saudi Arabia were arrested and deported. The talks might include some agreement according to which Pakistani deportees might be facilitated to return to their homeland.
It should be noted here that Imam Khana Ka’aba Abdur Rehman Al-Sudais is also expected to visit Pakistan. This shows that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have very strong relationships now that Mian Nawaz Sharif is Prime Minister of Pakistan.
