Samina Baig First Pakistani Woman to Conquer Mount Everest

Pakistani woman Samina Baig has made us feel immensely jubilant after becoming the “First Female Pakistani “to set foot on the world’s tallest mountain Mount Everest. Samina Baig with her brother Mirza Ali, ended the summit around 7:30 morning today. Her brother is the third youngest lucky one to conquer the peak. Ali is just 29 year old while Samina is even younger than him; she is 21 only. The duo is a native of a small dale called “Shimshal” near Hunza, Pakistan. Ali is an experienced climber and Samina’s climbing instructor, supporter & director.
Tilak Panday informed the media that there were 35 outsiders along with a Nepali guide Sherpa, who climbed all night from the South Col, the highest camp and a bypass between Mount Everest and a neighboring peak. They reached in the morning then. They took the Southern side of the mountain and did it bravely! Tilak Panday is an official of Nepal Mountaineering Department.
Ali wrote about this expedition in his personal blog saying that it was the first ever Pakistan gender equality quest. He described the whole phase there which showed his full expertise. He said after the completion of their acclimatization trips to the base camps 1, 2 and 3 respectively; they made sure if they are fully ready to proceed further or not and once making sure they move ahead. They waited for a ‘friendly’ weather to start as well in the expedition.
It was the 60th Anniversary of Mount Everest when two Pakistani courageous siblings made us proud on them. They represented to the world that we are an alive, brave and peace-loving nation. They scaled this highest peak under private sponsorship. Their adventure tough journey began from the 1st April 2013 and it will end on 3rd June 2013. Along with other foreigner friends, Tashi and Nughsi, Indian Twin sisters were also with them. Thus they hoisted Pakistani and Indian flags altogether at the peak. It is a message of “Peace and Companionship” to all the Pakistani and Indians!
