Saeen Zahoor Ahmed a ”Mystic Man” From Aik Alif to Allah Hoo

“I’ve no idea when I was born. I just know that Pakistan and India were united at that time and I opted for singing after seeing a dream at the age of five,”
That is how Saeen Zahoor describes the start of his singing journey. He learned from Ustaad Ronaq Ali and then he traveled far corners of the country to perform at different shrines. He says:
“The actual place for Sufi singers are shrines because there are chances that a Faqeer or Darwaish will go astray if he comes out in public.”
He looks like a true Sufi singer with Tassels, Punjabi Pagri and Kurtas.
With passing time he has got much fame and success. IK ALLAH sung by him has given him much recognition. His career reached to heights after singing with coke studio. Now he has traveled out of country for his singing and performed in UK, India, Norway and Canada.
He claims that the reason of his success is His love for his culture and his routes.
“I never deviated from my path and just focused on Sufiana Kalaam. Other singers at shrines didn’t make it big becausethey forgot their mission by adapting western styles and that’swhy they are still at Dargas and I’ve seen the whole world,”
Though his financial situations has changed he still has immense love for Ektara.
“I don’t think, I’ve changed after getting popular because Ektara is still in my hands and I won’t leave it for anything.” he said.
Answering another question about his female followers he responded as such:
“Yes, women, especially foreigners, are attracted more towards my performances but there is no place for materialism and females in a Sufi’s life. They are all like my daughters”.
He has sung songs for ”West is West” and ”Khuda Ke Liye”. He does not have any regrets nor some extravagant wishes but hope for fellow singers.
“I’ve no other wish as God has already given so much to me.Shrines in Pakistan are rich with talent but require the attention of concerned authorities”
