The once most controversial social media star Qandeel Baloch met a tragic death back in 2016 when her own brothers killed her in the name of honor. The brothers were arrested but the parents of the deceased on Wednesday submitted an affidavit in the Multan court. The affidavit stated that the parents wanted to forgive their son. They asked the court to dismiss the case.

Qandeel Baloch was the victim of honor killing, the most condemned and talked about the act of inhumane nature. Her brother named Waseem strangled her while she was at her own home. During the interrogation, he mentioned that he did all this to protect his and his family’s honor. Her bold videos on the social media brought a bad name to the family of that belonged to the Baloch tribe. The other partner in crime was her brother Aslam Shaheen.

The parents of Miss Baloch shared their affidavit in the model court Multan. It said that they being the parents forgive their sons for killing Qandeel, their unfortunate daughter. They further added to acquit the two nominees in the murder charge.

According to the affidavit the Anti-Honor Killing Laws were promulgated after the murder of Qandeel Baloch. As per this law if the family of the victim forgives or pardons the killer he would be released provided that he will not be able to move around freely. As per this amendment in 2015, it is at the discretion of the judge in the seat that if he finds it right to change the death sentence into life imprisonment. The affidavit has asked for pardon under the section345 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. After the submission, the attorneys from both sides were asked to present before the court.

The recent update on the situation says that the court has rejected the appeal and has urged to keep the penalty.
