The Holy month of Ramazan is about to start and with that, there will be a start of the Ramazan transmission on different television channels of Pakistan. The transmissions are now a permanent part of the holy month with different channels taking services of different actors and actresses to take part in the transmissions in order to boost ratings. In a change of events, the Punjab Assembly has come up with a resolution in order to ban all the celebrities from hosting or attending any Ramazan transmissions during the whole month on any TV channels.

This surely is an opportunity that the celebs will regret going as they are heavily paid for it. The resolution was passed unanimously in the assembly so that the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) can ban all popular artists from taking part in the Ramazan transmissions. The idea behind the resolution is that the transmissions should only be hosted and attended by religious scholars as they have more knowledge on this subject. The artists lack the knowledge and hence are not able to deliver powerful content that is often needed during the Ramazan transmissions. The assembly members believe that these transmissions should be left for the scholars only so they can impart knowledge.

Celebs and Ramazan transmissions are now a popular combination that has garnered good ratings in the holy month for every channel. For this year’s Ramazan as well, channels have already announced their hosts of transmissions with ARY having the likes of Waseem Badami, Iqrar ul Hassan, Faisal Qureshi, Fahad Mustafa, and Nida Yasir for the transmissions. Aamir Liaquat, the famous one, is going to be conducting Ramazan transmissions from PTV this time having previous experience of working for GEO, BOL, and others. It needs to be seen whether PEMRA will take the decision or not or whether the celebs will continue to host and attend the transmissions.
