PTCL and Dailymotion Joint Venture in Pakistan

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) is determined to “augment the growth of the local content industry” and this is why it is bringing Dailymotion as a joint venture into Pakistan.
Since YouTube has been banned since 17th of September 2012 in Pakistan due to the objectionable content, Pakistani media producers were looking for YouTube alternative and it seems that they have finally found one.
Dailymotion is willing to block the objectionable content in the country and offers an improved viewing experience to the customers as stated in a press release, it is expected that multi-screen option as well as a wide range of entertainment will also be provided via Dailymotion in Pakistan.
According to experts, due to the launch of Dailymotion in Pakistan, new content producers will have good opportunities for their content to be explored at global level and Pakistani culture would expand throughout the world.
Video sharing websites like YouTube and Dailymotion are not only for entertainment purposes but they also host educational and research related material that is very useful for masses throughout the world.
Dailymotion is a video sharing website of French origin and due to its joint venture with PTCL in Pakistan, people in Pakistan will be able to view Dailymotion in a much better and personalized way.
It would be better if this joint venture concentrates upon monetization of the video content for Pakistan video content producers. Monetization of the video content is a growing industry and it would add a new dimension to the Pakistan video content producers as it is growing popular throughout the world and this dimension should also be opened for Pakistani video content producers.
