Pakistan general elections are going to be held on May 11th, 2013. There are three major parties competing in the elections this time; Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Unlike the past elections, there is a strong opponent to claim the seat this time. It is no other than Imran Khan. His party has gained an immense fame worldwide, in the recent years. He has become so popular not only in Pakistan but also outside Pakistan too. Number of people is still adding up in his party. One reason of his great success is that many well-known and experienced leaders from other parties have joined him, like PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi or PTI President Javed Hashmi etc. Another reason of his tremendous reputation is that Imran Khan is the hot-favorite of the young blood of Pakistan. They love and admire him so much as a “Hero of the Nation.” His reputation especially in Khyber PakhtunKhwa and Punjab is worth-noticing.

He reemerged as a strong opponent after the Jalsa on 30th October 2011, at Minar-e-Pakistan Lahore.Millions of the Insafians gathered up to support his party. Since then Imran’s popularity has increased.

Now these days when the 14th General Elections are on our heads, the question is has Imran khan‘s popularity is in harmony with that of his number of voters?
There are certain solid points to answer this sensitive question. First of all, Imran Khan is a hero of the youth of Pakistan. No doubt his supporters love him so much but for casting a vote, having a mature and independent mind is very important.
Imran Khan‘s supporters are young in age so they are dependent upon their parents. The situation becomes graver when a supporter’s family is casting a vote to the Pakistan Muslim League, how would they allow their son/daughter to support Imran Khan.
The older lot from Pakistan is mostly with the already established traditional parties. They do not want to help and show support a new leader rather is happy to follow the traditional lords.
Secondly, Pakistan is a country where voters keep in mind various things such as caste, sect, money, religion, feudal system and many more.
Third and the most important factor in predicting Imran Khan’s voter is the rate of illiteracy in Pakistan. There are a huge number of people in Pakistan who are not educated. They do farming and are mostly under a feudal lord of their respective area. Being totally unaware of their rights and need for a new sincere leader in Pakistan, they are helpless. They literally do not know whom to vote or not.
Therefore, In general elections 2013 Imran’s success would clear his true number of followers. As it is very difficult to predict the number of Imran Khan’s lovers cum followers now, although he is gaining wide-spread popularity all over the country.
