Pakistani and Indian Hackers Fight for Cyberspace Supremacy

Pakistani Hackers attacked and defaced more than 2000 Indian websites on the Republic Day of India. This Cyber-Attack was termed the 2^nd biggest attack this year by Pakistani hackers over Indian Cyber space as just two weeks back 1400 Indian websites were hacked and defaced by Pakistani Hackers.

The plan for this attack was quite different as this time different hackers united, planned and waged a very strong attack on Indian Cyber-Space and defaced about 2118 Indian websites. The operation was named “#OP26jan”. The main hackers were identified with handles such as “StrikerRude”, “KashmirCyberArmy”, “PakCyber Expert” and “HUnter Gujar”.

Now Indian Hackers have retaliated against “OP26jan” and they have already defaced the homepages of more than 100 Pakistani websites and it seems that this retaliation by “Indian Cyber Rakshak” will continue for a few more days.

It seems that Indian Hackers are having a hard time to retaliate to any Cyber–Attacks by Pakistani Hackers or anyone else because some of the Indian Hackers were arrested months ago while they were trying to restore some of the websites defaced by Pakistani Hackers. CBI and Cyber Crime Department of India were raiding everywhere to find the hackers. This mainly is the reason why most of the Indian hackers have vanished and only a few are currently active.

Due to the quite un-friendly atmosphere between the two neighboring countries, it really is hard for CBI and Cyber Crime Department  to take up the task of protecting the Indian Cyber–Space all by themselves as nothing is expected to happen at Government’s level between the two countries.
