Pakistan U-19 cricket team has beaten England U-19 by 3 wickets in the 1st Semi Final to make a place in the World Cup final. English team won the toss at Dubai International Cricket Stadium and decided to bat first. Start was a horrific one for the English team when both their openers went back to Pavilion without troubling the scorers. 3rd wicket partnership did not continue for long and English team was struggling at 38 runs for 3 wickets. RF Higgins and WMH Rhodes made valuable contributions to English team’s innings to get them to a fighting total of 204 runs. WMH Rhodes scored an unbeaten 76 runs of 79 deliveries with 4 boundaries and a 6. RF Higgins made 52 runs of 99 deliveries with the help of only 1 boundary.

Best bowling figures for Pakistan were from Kamran Ghulam who gave away 36 runs in his allowed quota of 10 overs and claimed two wickets. Other prominent bowling figures were that of Amad Butt who took two wickets for 43 runs in his ten overs and Zia Ul Haq took two wickets for 46 runs in nine overs.

Pakistan batting start was relatively good one with openers getting Pakistan an opening stand of 41 runs. 3 simultaneous wickets fell on the score of 57 runs. At this stage Pakistan was struggling with 57 runs on the board and 4 wickets down. At this stage Saud Shakeel with 45 runs and Ameer Hamza with 35 runs steadied the innings for Pakistan and at the end Zafar Gohar and Amad Butt with brilliant partnership sailed Pakistan to victory. Zafar Gohar scored 37 not out while Amad Butt scored 26 runs not out.

Best bowling figures for England were from MD Fisher who gave away only 21 runs in his 10 overs quota and claimed two wickets. He also bowled 3 maiden overs. RJ Sayer and R Jones were other two prominent bowlers who bowled 10 overs each and both of them gave away 39 runs while claiming two wickets.

Pakistan has advanced to the Finals of the World Cup by beating England with 3 wickets and 5 balls spared.
