The National mail service is going to launch the mobile money transfer and logistic services across the Pakistan. After the commencement of the 21st century, Pakistan Post’s performance has been gradually decreasing. Keeping in view this alarming situation, the administration has decided to rebrand it by launching various other services that are getting popularity nowadays.

At present, mobile banking is spreading its wings and it is doing well as compared to traditional and commercial banking. Pakistan Post has also decided to step into the mobile financial services. Now the national mailing service will be seen as providing the mobile transfer facility across the country. Moreover. Logistic services are also the part of the development agenda.

3,200 post office are currently working in Pakistan with almost 9,000 agents. The administration is planning to take over the almost 20% share of the mobile money transfer market in two years of the launch of the service. It is also hoping for to earn at least Rs. 5 billion via mobile transfer service.

The eCommercing and logistic services are doing well in the country. Taking the logistic service as one of the profitable sectors, Pakistan Post Office will also step into these areas as well. An investment of Rs. 800 million will be made in this sector for getting the GPS enabled tracking vehicles, warehouse, distribution channels, software & hardware, and brand recognition.

The administration of PPO will make it sure that this project must be implemented in a transparent manner and for this purpose a proper expression of interest will be invited for all proposed projects of the PPO. It is the best decision that has been taken by the PPO because eCommercing is gradually replacing the traditional way of communication and doing business.
