World cup 2019 was not something fascinating for the people of Pakistan. All the hopes crashed to the ground after Pakistan lost against India, West Indies, and Australia. The nation was long waiting for the event. World cup always brings loads of happiness and excitement but this year it did not quench the enthusiasm of the cricket freaks as it used to do in the past days. The world cup 2019 is taking place in the United Kingdom. People from all over the world have poured in large numbers to witness the event. Although the chances to reach the semi-finals are very less but still, the last match has raised the hopes of the nation to some extent. Pakistan has defeated South Asia in its last match played on 23rd June 2019. The match was fun to watch and would be remembered for the excellent performance of the Green team.
The match was played at the popular Lords ground. The stadium was filled with the supporters from both sides. The inclusion of Haris Sohail in the team proved its worth for the country. The great 89 runs and the outclass bowling paved the way to the ultimate victory of the team. Wahab Riaz claimed three wickets, while Shadab and Afridi claimed one wicket each. Amir also contained the score to the minimum level. Team Green won the toss and decided to bat making a total of 308 runs. In response, the South African team could not reach the target in the 50 over’s and lost the match by a total of 49 runs.
