No More Smartphones for School Teachers

Now a Days Smartphone has become a part of our lives. It seems difficult to stay without cell phones for even a single second. All our daily activities include the use of smartphones. From fun to information the smartphones are integral for all that we do. If these smartphones benefitted us in many ways, the adverse impact could not be ignored. They have made things complicated. The continuous use of smartphones has adversely impacted the working capacity. People are seen using the phones in the office, in schools, on the road, while eating and in short everywhere.

The problem became grave especially when the teachers in the school showed more concern for their smartphones as compared to the classroom activities. The government of Punjab observed that there was a considerable decline in the performance of the students studying in government schools all over Punjab. This required prompt action.

The education department felt the need for taking quick action. Hence, they have decided to ban the use of mobile phones during teaching hours. No teacher would be allowed to carry the Smartphone to the educational institute. This ban will be there for the teachers of all the schools regardless of whether she teaches in the public or the private sectors.

The concerned education authorities have already sent the notifications to all the school heads to implement the said as soon as possible. At the same time, the teachers have been instructed to hand over the phones to the school administration before or during the assembly timings. After duty hours, they can receive mobile phones back.

On inquiry, the notice issuing body that this step has been taken for the good of the students. These gadgets were enough to distract the students while studying. Similar steps were already taken by the government of KPK in October 2018.
