Nawaz Sharif Imprisonment and People Reaction Over Social Media

Accountability Court-I Judge Mohammad Bashir in today verdict of Avenfield Case has sentenced Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to a total of 11 years in prison and fined £8 million as well. Along with Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz has been sentenced for eight years with £2 million fine and son in Law Capt (R) Safdar with one-year imprisonment without any fine.
The court has also made it clear that the Avenfield Properties were in Sharif family possession since 1993 and shall be seized by the federal government. For the information of the readers, Avenfield reference was one of the important references of three references filed by the NAB last year on instructions of Supreme Court of Pakistan. The reference pertains to the ownership of the Sharif family’s apartments at Avenfield House, London.
Moreover, after the hearing, NAB Deputy Prosecutor General Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi said the accused have ten days to file an appeal against the verdict.
