The tension between Pakistan and India has been on the rise but these tensions escalated to another level when the two countries were involved in a war like situation in the month of February this year. Since then there have been no diplomatic talks between the two countries and both the countries are at loggerheads with each other. There has been little or no efforts from both sides of the border to reduce the tension between the two countries. But now it looks like there might be a release in tension as Indian PM Narendra Modi may attend the inauguration ceremony of Kartarpur Corridor.

The Kartarpur Corridor Project will be inaugurated by Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan in the last month of November. The inauguration will take place at the 550th birth anniversary of Sikh Guru Baba Guru Nanak. There have been reports that both the countries had discussions at a high level where it was decided that Narendra Modi will be coming to the inauguration ceremony. Modi also confirmed support from India’s side on the timely completion of the Kartarpur corridor’s work at the Indian side of the border. Pakistan, on the other hand, has also started preparations for the birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak.

An official communication took place between the two countries regarding the Kartapur project inauguration so that the premiers from both the sides can attend it. It is also expected that both Pakistan and India will meet next week in order to discuss out the technical issues related to the corridor project. The construction work has been going at a rapid speed where it is reported that Pakistan has completed more than 50% of the work on its side of the border in order to ensure the timely completion of the Kartarpur project.
