NAB Arrests PML-N Leader Hamza Shahbaz

It looks like the time is not on the side of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz at the moment. Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif is already behind the bars on the charges of corruption and now the son of Shahbaz Sharif, Hamza Shahbaz has also been arrested by the NAB from the Lahore High Court on account of money laundering cases as well as having assets more than the income. The arrest of Hamza Shahbaz took place after his lawyer took back the bail extension plea against charges in corruption of two cases. Once the bail plea was taken back, the PML-N leader was arrested by the NAB team.
The bail plea was taken by Hamza Shahbaz’s lawyer after NAB failed to produce the Financial Monitoring Unit document that had all the details of corruption allegations on Hamza Shahbaz. Hamza Shahbaz’s bail plea had been extended till June 11 by the Lahore High Court bench earlier this month. Hamza Shahbaz, on the other hand, has been quite confident that he has not done any corruption. Before his arrest, Hamza spoke to the media and said that if any corruption is proved against him, then he will quit politics. He said that he has not done corruption of a single rupee as well.
The Shareef family has been facing money laundering and corruption charges with Shahbaz Shareef facing inquiries in corruption in Ramazan Sugar Mills and having assets more than income. Hamza Shahbaz’s cousin, Maryam Nawaz took to Twitter in order to condemn the arrest of her cousin saying that the fake government of PTI is responsible for the arrest of Hamza Shahbaz. She also said that PML-N has faced a dictator in the past as well and jail is not something new for Hamza Shahbaz. Hamza Shahbaz will be presented in the court in order to get his physical remand.
