Former dictator General retired Pervez Musharraf fled the Islamabad High Court today when the court accused him of treason. His bail was cancelled and after hearing the judgement Musharraf and his security team pushed away the Police and made it to their cars and were successful in escaping. According to the sources, Musharraf escaped to his farmhouse in Chak Shahzad where he is under a house arrest as ordered by the court after he managed to escape. Islamabad High Court ordered to arrest him in the judges’ detention case. The case is related to his confrontation with the judiciary in 2007 while he was the President of Pakistan. His controversial decisions were the reasons for the instability of the judiciary for a very long time.

President Asif Ali Zardari stated a while ago as broadcasted by the news channels that according to the constitution, the seat of President does not let him interfere in this very matter and it is up to the Government to decide what is best in this situation. This clearly means that at the moment the time is proving very difficult for Pervez Musharraf and he is losing allies very quickly and no aid has been provided from any side to him. Pervez Musharraf’s appeal to Supreme Court against arrest has been returned today as the time of the Supreme Court was finished and he will stay house arrested for the rest of the day today.

Reminding you that Musharraf is having charges of different kinds during his time in office as Chief Executive and then as the President from 1999 to 2008. On 24th of March 2013, Musharraf returned to the country to face the charges against him. These charges include the murder of Baloch leader Akbar Bhugti in 2006 and then the murder of Benazir Bhutto in 2007. Television channels actively broadcasted the footage where Musharraf escaped in his black colour SUV.

Pervez Musharraf returned to Pakistan to compete in upcoming General Elections 2013, but earlier this week he was barred from participating in the elections.  Sources claim that political deals are in progress to stop Musharraf being sent to the jail. Musharraf’s lawyer named Qamar Afzal confirmed the court’s decision by stating, “The judge Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui ordered that the interim bail is dismissed.”
