The list is published annually by the renowned independent research institute Royal Islamic Strategic Studies that is affiliated with the Royal Aal al Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought in Jordan.
This year the list includes the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Imran Khan, the world-known religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel, the inspirational religious motivational speaker Maulana Naz ur Rahman along with three more people from Pakistan who appeared in the top 50 world-renowned influential Muslims.

His works in the world of Hadith, Islamic Jurisprudence and Islamic Finance are consulted all over the world as a source of knowledge. He also introduced the concept of interest-free Islamic banking in Pakistan. He was the judge at the Shari ‘at Appellate Bench of the Supreme court. He served on this position from 1982 to May 2002. The compilers of the list have also taken into account his unmatched works in the field of Islamic Jurisprudence and Islamic Banking.
