National Assembly’s session on information and Technology increased its issues over a large number of websites being run by terrorist organizations. Tahir Iqbal, who had been chairing the conference, declared there are more than 25,000 web sites available in Pakistan which are run by terrorist organizations. The committee also questioned the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) regarding the actions it will be taking to stop the information on such websites.

 

Dr. Ismail Shah, Chairman PTA, while briefing the committee declared PTA can’t stop any of the website by itself, following an order from Islamabad High Court. For anybody who don’t understand, PTA isn’t completely answerable for stopping YouTube or some other unavailable website in Pakistan. Inter-Ministerial Committee decides if a website should be viewed or stopped in Pakistan. It is often placed on keep through Islamabad High Court as a result of a application registered by Bolo Bhi.

He explained that there must be a complaint recorded with PTA for the stopping of a web site and after that authority researches the information of recorded website to ultimately stop it. He explained that Islamabad High Court is usually turned off associated with a website which is stopped by PTA.

 

Azmat Ranjha, IT Secretary, indicated that the police agencies have been requested to form analysis wings for searching any kind of possible terrorist websites and discuss their quite happy with PTA.

 

Following the issues increased by the National Assembly, it is expected that PTA will stop the entry of all kinds of terrorists websites in the country. If you think any such websites, you may report it to the PTA.
