Pervaiz Khattak has won 84 out of 121 votes in Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa and has become 26th Chief Minister of KP-Assembly. Wajih uz Zaman was also the contender for the same occupation but he with-drew his candidature in favour of Pervaiz Khattak. Wajih uz Zaman was representing Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz. Maulana Lufur Rehman who belongs to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) received only 37 votes.

Pervaiz Khattak on this occasion said that his government is ready to take on the challenges facing the province today. He showed eagerness of his party by telling that his party has already made the strategy to overcome the problems facing the province. PTI is ready to start the practical work which they promised to the people of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, said Pervaiz Khattak.

Obligation of meeting the expectations of the people of the province is upon Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf. Law and order situation of the province is one of the major challenges and province is the most corrupt among all other provinces. Chief Minister revealed his intentions by announcing a ‘zero-tolerance’ policy for those who are responsible to create threat to law and order situation in the province.

According to Pervaiz Khattak the time has arrived for the Government departments and officials to fix their way of operating. He further claimed that days of earning through corruption are over now and he urged overseas Pakistani nationals to invest in the province and the Government will provide them security and an environment that will be free of corruption. Independence to bureaucracy of the province was also promised but on the condition of generating 100% results.

Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak claimed that he will be improving the law and order situation of the province and people would be able to see him driving among the general public as he will keep his protocol to a minimum. Government process of working will be kept transparent and will be communicated to the general public via a website. Government officials and lawmakers will be liable to openly declare their assets. Local body system and establishment of the community police is what PTI wish to introduce in the province and it is one of their priorities.

In order to reduce the burden on the hospitals of capital of the province, Peshawar, CM insisted that the District Headquarter hospitals must be improved and doctors should complete their 8-hour shifts. As far as the matter of power shortage is concerned, he promised to take full advantage of the resources present in the province and national grid installation will take place.

The provincial finance commission will be rejuvenated in order to make sure that resources are distributed equally. Education sector will be injected with a single curriculum for all the institutions and according to CM Pervaiz Khattak, this was the only method to bring an end to the inequality in the society. He addressed the general public as well by asking them to do the timely payment of the utility bills and a computerised system of land reforms was also in his agenda. Minorities, youth and women of the province were promised full attention of the government.
