Cricket fever is gripping everyone as the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is about to start next week. This cricket fever has also taken over Pakistan as the men in green start their World Cup campaign against West Indies on May 31st. in order to buck up the cricket team, Pakistan’s pop band Junoon has come forward to release an anthem. The band will be reuniting after 23 years in order to make a new song that too for the cricket team, a surreal moment indeed. The band recently made a return to the singing world when they performed at a concert in Karachi.

In an exclusive video message, Salman Ahmed said that the three of them will be coming to together with a special video for the cricket team. Salman also shared some lyrics of the song which were like “Badlega jahan, choolenge aasman, aur cricket team sar fakhar se uthayegi.” Ali Azmat said that the song will be for the people of Pakistan specifically for the marginalized ones. We hope that the new song from the infamous pop band weaves its magic on the cricket team and we can see them lifting the World Cup again after more than 27 years.

This is not the first time that Junnon will be doing a cricket anthem for Pakistan cricket team. The band previously sang the infamous Jazba Junoon that is still fresh in the minds of the people and is played every time when Pakistan plays a cricket match. Ali Azmat himself sang the Josh e Junoon cricket song for the 2011 Cricket World Cup in which Pakistan reached the semifinals. We hope that the song from Junoon turns out to be a massive hit and the team also wins the World Cup in order to bring smiles on the faces of millions back home.
