Imran Khan’s First Speech in Assembly Cut by PTV

Imran Khan on 19th June 2013 after taking oath, delivered his first ever speech in the National Assembly. It was a Budget Session in the assembly today and the government owned channel PTV that was supposed to show his speech, cut it just after two minutes. Social Media is especially protesting about such brutal act and the spark of rage against government has lit yet again. First of all he congratulated the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for being elected then he started off with the history of Pakistan i.e. he recalled the time of his childhood and said that when he was young his parents proudly told him that he was the first generation of Pakistan. A writer in the 50s 60s wrote in his book that Pakistan would become the “California of Asia” but unfortunately, things went wrong.
In his opinion, we must sort out the reason of this destruction in the country. He said that it was injustice that is responsible for all this happening in Pakistan like the devastation of Baluchistan and the East Pakistan’s segregation etc. He gave example of Switzerland for two times and said that he was pointing out that country because it has “Nothing” yet a developed country. Germans, Italians, French are living there happily and the reason why they own that country is only “Justice.”
Imran K. compared our country with Switzerland and said that there is no competition between the entire Switzerland and Pakistani Northern Areas. Pakistani Northern Areas are its double and not only this Pakistan has hydro, gas, coal, gold and copper reservoir but unfortunately there is no justice in the country to help develop it. He also appealed that our nation must be united for this cause. Giving his point of view on Budget 2013-14 he said that he would not talk about the budget as an opposition leader rather he will talk about it as a Pakistani only. He opposed budget 2013-14 for it would only increase the tensions of the poor and middle class people.
