How Much Is Pakistan’s Debt to This Date

Both interdental and external debts have been always remained curse for the underdeveloped countries. Since the date of independence, Pakistan have been continuously facing a lot of problems in which the debts particularity external debts are the major one. Since 2014, the overall debt of Pakistan has been raised from 11.5% to 11.7%. In 2014, the overall debt of the country was Rs. 17,407.1 billion that raised to Rs. 18,048.9 billion in 2015 and now in the first quarter of 2016, it is Rs. 20,147.9 billion.
The overall debt and liabilities at present are Rs. 21,044.3 billion. In these the country’s debt from IMF is Rs. 523.1 billion.

External liabilities include Central bank deposits, SWAPS, Allocation of SDR and Non resident LCY deposits with central bank.
Includes borrowings from banks by provincial governments and PSEs for commodity operations.
As per the guidelines available in IMF’s External Debt Guide for Compilers and Users 2003, the principal repayment of short term debt is excluded from over all principal repayments. However, for the information of data users, short term repayment of principal has been reported as Memorandum Items.
Net flows of short term borrowings by banks reflect the net increase (+) or decrease (-) in the stock of short term bank borrowings during the period.
