In Islamabad, the federal cabinet in its meeting on Tuesday 29th October decided to grant 50,000 scholarships to students from low-income families of needy people in the next four years. This was addressed by the Special Subordinate to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan after the meeting of the federal cabinet in Islamabad. She said that 120 universities would benefit from the program which could be consumed by families that were earning less than Rs. 45,000/- per month. Further, she quoted, 2% quota would be specified for the disabled and minorities.

She said that the Federal Cabinet has given 510 billion for the construction and development of Dasu Dam, after the agreement of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) and working on it would start from next month. This meeting made a big change in shape to provide the facility for the minorities low-income families and raise income for constructing the Dam too which will be helpful in the future of our country Pakistan.

While addressing a press conference here to share details of the decisions taken during the meeting, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said the construction of Dasu Dam was delayed since it was previously scheduled to be launched in 2014 but due to some technical reasons now with projected completion in 2019. Dr. Firdous said, unfortunately, the project be funded by the World Bank, which could not be started due to some major and different hurdles. Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the cabinet discussed the laws related to investment and people-friendly policies.

She told that the cabinet approved the re-organization of the Board of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (BSGCL). Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said the Prime Minister Imran Khan recapitulate his sorted out that Evacuee Property Trust Board (EPTB) land would be used for establishing and developing educational institutions and hospitals for the public. The members of the board of Evacuee Property Trust Board (EPTB) were approved, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan quoted. She added more to this the Cabinet was given a detailed presentation on the Ehsas Programme. Dr. Firdous concluded by saying that Cabinet also approved agreements with Russia.
