Game development community of Pakistan these days try to capitalize on the hot national events in the country and after ‘Angry Imran’ and ‘Gullu Butt’; the game Container Run is another example.

The developers thought Azadi March as an opportunity to develop a game and they did. In the Android game you are shown running away from containers and your character is ‘Stylish Mr. Khan’ who is shown to run towards Islamabad. Islamabad is the place where the actual Azadi March has marched and landed.

Game is quite simple as you have to take your character as far as you can and on the way avoiding containers. Navigation is done by tilting the display and you will have to tap in order to make Stylish Mr. Khan jump. The idea seems to have been taken from Temple Run. If you have already played Temple Run, then you should have no problem in mastering this game as well.

The game seems to be not completely developed as you cannot run on top of the containers. There is only one button on the main menu that says ‘Play’. No settings are provided to mess around with and no points counter is there. That is why you cannot make a high score and thus initially you can play the game because you are curious but while there is not point scoring system and you cannot enjoy making new high scores; thus you will get bored soon.

It definitely seems a job done in hurry and it is hard to imagine how this game made its way on Google Play Store. Bombardment of ads every time your character dies makes the game even messier. Looking at this game, the developers of ‘Angry Imran’ and ‘Gullu Butt’ will be feeling proud. The character ‘Stylish Mr. Khan’ doesn’t portray the actual person leading the real Azadi March.

Final word, in order to capitalize on such events, Pakistani game developers must put in some real effort in order to get rewarded. Rudimentary games like this one would not help the cause.
