Forland Factory to Manufacture Electric Cars in Pakistan

The electric car industry in on the boom all over the world but in Pakistan, electric cars are yet to see the daylight. But now those dreams can come true as Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the JW Forland factory will produce the first electric vehicles of the country that will be manufactured in Pakistan only. Right now there are only three major automobile players in the industry who are dominating the market in different price segments. People are yet to get any relief from these companies and the introduction of electric cars may be a welcome sign for the people of Pakistan.

Imran Khan at the inauguration of the extension project said that the government is looking to make it easier for people to do business in Pakistan by facilitating both domestic and foreign investors. The JW Forland factory right now employs 8,000 people and creates indirect jobs for approximately 40,000 people. The cars will be manufactured thoroughly in Pakistan with each and every part of the car being produced in Pakistan only. The difference is that previously there were only assembly plants in Pakistan with no proper manufacturing facility available which is now available.

Imran Khan said that the introduction of electric cars in Pakistan will reduce the pollution issue in the country and will also help people get alternative vehicles that are run on electricity. The Prime Minister thanked Faisal Afridi and Javed Afridi for setting up the Forland factory that will bring in investments and create job opportunities for a lot of people. The Forland factory right now is giving Rs. 21 billion in taxes to the government and after the expansion process it will be giving Rs. 30 billion the government in taxes each and every year.
