Since the day of its inception, the PTI government has taken up the task of helping those who are in need of help. The purpose was to help them in all possible ways so they do not have to spread their hands before anyone. To fulfill the task they were given assistance in different ways like setting up shelter homes, giving health cards etc. the plan was further enhanced by introducing the Ehsaas program. In the recent past, during his visit to the United States the Prime Minister briefed about the same program to people like Bill Gates, who further promised to ensure maximum support for the program.

Under the same program, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Ehsaas Saylani Langar Program on Monday. The program is meant to feed the needy all across the country. Accompanied along with the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on the Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Saniya Nishtar, the Prime Minister inaugurated the first of these langars at the Saylani Langar House in Islamabad on Monday morning. While addressing the occasion the Prime Minister said that this is just the beginning. Following this more effort will be made in the future. The purpose is to promote a softer image of Pakistan through such measures and to establish a real welfare state just like the State of Medina which is the top priority of the government. He added that transforming the society is not a one day’s task. It takes time to bring a huge change. It took years to make the State of Medina.

The advisor to the PM Dr. Saniya also addressed on the occasion. She said that the Ehsaas Langar program is one of its kind programs that are different from other welfare programs. The program was initiated under the directives of the Prime Minister. Feeding the needy in a respectable manner is itself an honor and matter of pride for the government and in particular the Ehsaas program.

The Ehsaas Saylani Langar is launched as a joint venture between the Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Division and the Saylani Welfare International Trust. After launching one in the Federal Capital, the government will further assist the SWIT to run 100 similar projects in the deserving parts of the country. The Special Assistant on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan also stated on Monday morning that this effort is actually the continuation of the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet.
