The websites of Israeli President, Foreign Ministry and all three Army websites were being hacked by “Anonymous”. Not only these but Mousad’s website along with 90,000 other websites were also being hacked by “Anonymous”.
The so called Muslim hacker group who named themselves as a part of “Anonymous” stated that this step was taken against Israel to register a protest against the brutal activities of Israel against Palestinians.
It has been claimed by the group that over $3 Billion losses have been inflicted on the Israel Government till yet in last few days. Even Mousad wasn’t safe from this attack and hackers were successful in stealing important and secret data from their websites.
The attack was very powerful and Israel was forced to ask for the services of 5000 Cyber experts to cope with this attack. The group of hackers warned the Israeli Government via Twitter that they will strike Israel with Cyber attacks. Israeli newspapers and channels said that this is a historic and most powerful cyber attack in the history of Israel.
According to Sky News, “Anonymous” hacked around 40,000 Facebook profiles, 20,000 Twitter profiles, 30,000 other websites and also the stock exchange of Israel. According to other news sources the estimated losses are more than $3 Billion. Not only the economy and society but the armed forces of Israel are struck hard by this cyber attack. This is a moment of shame for Israel because Israel is considered non-conquerable as far as the cyber world is concerned.
“Anonymous” posted the message on some of the websites that they will eliminated Israel from the cyber world. This attack was named “Off Israel”. “Anonymous” claims that it is a group of Muslims. According to Al-Jazeera, the group comprise of around 10,000 people from Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Indonesia, Palestine, Turkey and many other Muslim countries. Reminding you that an attack was carried out by the same hacker group in November 2012 and around 700 websites were hacked in that attack.
