The world is in the traumatic situation and battling against the pandemic COVID-19, ⅓rd of the world is still in lockdown and they haven’t launched the vaccine for the virus, it is still in examination procedure but the chances of death are only 2% by the reports and recovered cases already increased worldwide.
In Pakistan, also, the government is giving their hard to the core to fight against it, the whole country is in lockdown and some areas are even sealed like Gulshan 2، Faisal cant, Pehlwan Goth, Jamali colony located in Karachi to stop the spreading of the virus.
The government has already launched its relief fund for COVID-19 to tackle the situation and Prime Minister’s Tiger Force that would consist of youth to do ration drive and give door to door campaign to combat infection. However, they are not enough that’s why an application has been launched which is named as COVID’19. COVID’19 is available in the play store to test if you have a virus. Besides, the application provides all the updates about the number of cases worldwide, the number of recovered patients and the situation of all provinces. Moreover, it tells you if you are in a safe zone or red zone. Furthermore, viewers will get information about precautionary measures and symptoms. Therefore, the government has referred citizens to install the application to ensure maximum safety.
Since the coronavirus pandemic has hit the country, the situation has been worsening day by day. According to the reports, the tally of confirmed cases of the infection is 5,011 while 86 death has been reported; although recovery rate is more than 10 percent with 762.
The experts like Atta-ur-Rehman says that cases might rise to 100,000.
Thus, the ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has been taking steps actively to fight against the virus by using the elements of science and technology and public administration. Recently, the ministry of science and technology has announced to repair faulty ventilators. Meanwhile, the ministry has been working with the students of the National University of Science and Technology who have made cheaper testing kits, drones and sprays to assist the government to fight against the outbreak.
A country is not run by the government only. It is run by citizens as well. Therefore, we have to cooperate with the PM and his team to make this country free of coronavirus or we have to face the music.
