Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) advertised in the newspaper for inviting stakeholders to apply for the Direct to Home (DTH) licenses. Following it, 10 companies applied to get the beneficial DTH licenses, PEMRA shortlisted 8 companies to participate in the bidding process, which is organized to be held on December 07, 2015.

What is Direct-To-Home (DTH)?

The Direct-To-Home service is a digital satellite service that provides television service direct to subscribers anywhere in the country, with it the viewers can enjoy the finest picture and sound quality. Most specifically, in this wireless technology is used and programs viewers willing to see are directly sent from the satellite to TV’s.

According to the updates, 10 interested companies applied to get DTH licenses, out of them 8 companies were shortlisted for the bidding process. Up the sources, it is also said that 3 DTH licenses will be auctioned at the event.

  • M/s Nayatel (Pvt.) Limited.
  • M/s HB DTH (Pvt.) Limited.
  • M/s Mastro Media Distribution (Pvt.) Limited.
  • M/s Sardar Builders (Pvt.) Limited.
  • M/s Shahzad CGG (Pvt.) Limited.
  • M/s Parus Media & Broadcast (Pvt.) Limited.
  • M/s Sharif Feed Mills (Pvt.) Limited.
  • M/s IQ Communications (Pvt.) Limited.

After the successful auction, the licensee will be able to operational their services within Pakistan. And will be allowed to televise the channels which are authorized for viewership by PEMRA.
