WhatsApp, the most popular messaging application in the world, is adding an amazing feature that will let you play Instagram and Facebook videos within the WhatsApp application. When your friends and family send you YouTube, Facebook or Instagram videos, now you can watch them easily inside WhatsApp without having to exit your conversation thread and go into YouTube, Facebook or Instagram.

The second new update of WhatsApp lets users to continue watching sent or received videos even if they switch between different conversations. The feature is called the “Picture-in-picture” feature.

Facebook is also working to link WhatsApp and Instagram in a similar way which lets users share their Instagram stories on WhatsApp as well. With this new WhatsApp feature to watch YouTube, Facebook, Instagram videos directly from within WhatsApp is only available on some iOS devices and is coming soon on Android devices.

WhatsApp, being the world’s most popular chat app, with over 1.5 billion monthly users, uses encrypted messaging. The messaging app is currently owned by Facebook, which admits they scan all the messages sent over Facebook messenger, they claim that they do not read messages sent over Whatsapp.

The social media network bought WhatsApp for $19 billion in 2014 and unlike other social network’s apps such as Facebook and Instagram, WhatsApp has so far remained an ad-free app.
