Well-known institutes unable to achieve Top Positions in Intermediate Results ’17

The wait is finally over. Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has announced the Intermediate results of 2017 and some interesting statistics have come to light.

The Intermediate examinations are an important stepping stone for Pakistani students. Those who get top grades in these exams are then poised for positions at Pakistan’s top medical and engineering universities. Hence, these exams are of utmost importance. Every year millions of students get enrolled in colleges that offer intermediate courses and struggle to achieve good results. Some students just want to score reasonable grades, others become satisfied with passing marks, but it’s the top students who want to be labeled as ‘High Achievers’.

The passing percentage 69.82% among girls was higher than that of the boys at 54.07%. But interestingly, boys beat out girls for all the top 3 positions.

This year, it is speculated that over 1.5 million students appeared for the Intermediate examinations in Punjab, Federal Capital, and Azad Kashmir region. Talking about Lahore only, over 155,000 students appeared in the exams out of which, 62.48% passed. Moreover, the passing percentage 69.82% among girls was higher than that of boys at 54.07%. But interestingly, boys beat out girls in all 3 top positions.

In the past, students prepared for the exams all by themselves but in recent years, Intermediate Colleges have taken up the task to thoroughly prepare their students for the turmoil of Board examinations.
