Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s founder, has become the third richest man in the world based on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. He edged past Warren Buffet, an American Business mogul and investor, by $32 million to grab the spot.

Bloomberg Billionaires Index is a compilation of the world’s richest people updated daily. In yesterday’s update, Jeff Bezos’ net worth now stands at $65.1 billion. The news is particularly interesting because his net worth fell to $43 billion earlier this year after trouble in global markets. Jeff Bezos’ entire personal wealth comes from the success of Amazon. They have strongly benefited from quick delivery demand, their cloud services and some of their signature products which include the Kindle.

Bezos was able to inch past Warren Buffet who donated about $2.2 billion worth of stock this month in his annual gift to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Bezos is now behind Spain’s Amancio Ortega, the Inditex SA founder who has a $73 billion fortune, and Microsoft’s Bill Gates, who has been the world’s richest person for as long as we can remember, with a $89 billion net worth.

The Bloomberg Billionaires Index is full of people from the tech industry. Popular names include Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, Alphabet’s Larry Page and Sergey Brin, SpaceX’s Elon Musk among the 31 people from tech with a total wealth that amounts to $636 bn.
