Zong is in process of revising its mobile broadband packages and prices for at least four plans have been increased at the rate of 1 paisa per MB.

According to an advertisement published in papers, four Zong Mobile Broadband 3G and 4G packages are being revised.

It must be mentioned that the usual Zong packages will remain the same but only the below mentioned MBB packages (that come with dongles or MiFis) are being revised.

This move from Zong is a sign that telecom operators are now going to rationalize their prices. Zong, that was previously conceived as an aggressive operator, has taken the lead in right-pricing data bundles, a move that other operators are going to follow very soon.

While customers might not like the package revisions, competing operators will be very relieved as everyone had to do this one day (exactly like we had previously hinted).

Not to mention, Zong is putting a special focus on the 4G market where it has grabbed more than 2 million customers already. Zong also said that it will invest heavily in 4G network during 2017 to make sure that its high-speed broadband is stretched across the country.

Zong already has more than 6,000 4G cell sites and their number is likely to grow substantially during the next 12 months.
