Remaining Fixtures: Who Will Secure Champions League Qualification in Premier League?
Posted by SPORTS DESK
Manchester City and Liverpool have broken away in a race for the title, but which team will secure the Champions League qualification?
Chelsea’s hopes of qualification were dented on the weekend as a Salah-inspired performance saw the Blues suffer a 2-0 defeat at Anfield.
With Arsenal registering a narrow win over 10-man Watford on Monday, the contest will now go right down to the wire.
Here’s how the table currently looks like:
Position | Club | Matches Played | Points |
---|---|---|---|
3. | Tottenham | 33 | 67 |
4. | Arsenal | 33 | 66 |
5. | Chelsea | 34 | 66 |
6. | Manchester United | 33 | 64 |
Arsenal, perhaps, has the easiest run of games till the end of the season whereas the remaining teams are all yet to face a top-6 team.
It is worth adding that all four teams are still alive in their respective European competitions, with Spurs and United battling in Champions League while Chelsea and Arsenal seek glory in Europa League.
Tottenham currently have a 1-0 aggregate advantage over English rivals Manchester City in the Champions League whereas Manchester United trail by the same scoreline against Barcelona.
Here’s how the remaining fixtures list looks like for each team:
