Aiming to eliminate hunger from the country, Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate 4 mobile kitchen trucks under the ‘Ehsaas Koi Bhooka Na Soye’ (EKBNS) initiative in Multan, Gujranwala, and Lahore today.

According to details, the Ehsaas mobile kitchen trucks will provide free food to needy people especially laborers, daily wage earners, women, and children who are unable to access the Ehsaas food points in these cities.

SAPM on Social Welfare, Senator Dr. Sania Nishtar, and MD Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar, will also brief the PM on the future expansion plans of the EKBNS initiative.

Currently, 12 mobile kitchen trucks are operational in 5 cities which provide food to people twice a day and seven days a week. The launch of 4 trucks today will take this number to 16.

The incumbent PTI government plans to expand mobile kitchens of the EKBNS program to all federating units including AJK and GB by October this year. With an overall fleet of 40 mobile kitchen trucks across 29 cities, more than 40,000 people every day and around 1.5 million people will benefit from the program annually.

Note that PM Imran Khan had launched the EKBNS mobile food trucks under the umbrella of the Ehsaas poverty alleviation scheme earlier this year in March.
