PIA to Resume its Suspended Flights for Sharjah, Muscat

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will resumes flight operations to Sharjah and Muscat, which remained suspended for over a year.

The national flag carrier commercial department has devised a plan to expand its business so that the airline’s market share and revenue can be enhanced.

A high-level meeting of the airline chaired by its Chief Executive Officer Air Marshal Arshad Malik was held here. The meeting discussed the business expansion plan of the airline.

The national flag carrier will resume its flight operation from Lahore to Muscat from Nov 17. The airline will operate two weekly flights; on Saturdays and Sundays.

With the two resumed flights, the numbers of weekly flights of PIA to Muscat from Pakistan will increase to nine.

The airline is already operating flights for Muscat from Peshawar, Turbat and Gwadar.

Likewise, the national flag carrier will be operating two weekly flights for Sharjah from Sialkot. The Sialkot to Sharjah route will be restored from November 20, and the national carrier will operate the flights on Tuesdays and Fridays.

With the new flights, PIA will have five weekly flights to Sharjah. The airline is already operating three flight for Sharjah Turbat.

In his message, the PIA CEO said the airline staff will have to employ all their energies to being an improvement in service quality.
