Another day, another PIA scandal.

This time the national carrier was accused of carrying expired products on board. The hand cologne was specifically pointed out as being the culprit. An official tweet reads,

PIA spokesman strongly refutes the news story aired by ARY News on Saturday. In a statement issued by PIA the spokesman said that “PIA does not and has not ever used expired hand cologne or any other products on its flights”.

The official twitter handle of the airline also attached pictures of the hand cologne with the expiry label, showing that the products had not, in fact, gone bad.

Fuel Supply Halted

A few days ago, PIA’s fuel supply was halted by PSO due to non-payment of dues. Specifically, JP1 aircraft fuel’s supply was stopped. Sources said that the airline hadn’t paid its dues in over a week which was a violation of agreement between the two companies.

The airline had promised full payment by last Thursday. An official PIA spokesperson said,

PSO took this decision to facilitate the passengers of PIA, and resume the fuel supply. As per the agreement, PIA management has promised to pay the current dues by Thursday evening.
