PCB Tender Has Already Attracted 16 Bidders for the Sixth PSL Team

Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ehsan Mani said he was delighted to see the response of the bidders for the sixth team.
The chairman revealed that so far 16 bidders have shown interest in buying the sixth team which, according to him, is a good sign for the league.
“We have received offers from 16 bidders, which is a great sign. There’s gonna be a lot of competition in the bidding and we’re hoping to sell the sixth team for a good price,” Mani said.

Tareen In The Race!
Famous politician, Jahangir Tareen’s son Ali Tareen, is also among the bidders for the sixth PSL team.
“I want to buy the team for the fourth edition of PSL and for this reason I have had two to three meetings with Pakistan Cricket Board officials in Lahore,” he added.
While speaking on a local news channel, Tareen vowed to retain the name of Multan if he won the rights for the team.

The chairman also refuted the media reports that the board had any rift with the franchises over dues.

“There’s no threat to the league. One franchise has already submitted a million dollars and a check for remaining amount, I am hopeful that the other franchises would do that as well,” Mani said, adding that the board still had the option of cashing out the bank guarantee in case of any franchise failed to meet the deadline.
When asked about the franchises’ reservations on the revenue share from broadcasting and sponsorship deals, PCB chief said: “We are fully aware of franchises’ concerns, and we will respond after reviewing them in a board meeting.”
