British Airways has finally touched down in Pakistan earlier today after a gap of more than a decade. The flight from Heathrow was warmly received at Islamabad International Airport.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner carrying 240 passengers landed at around 9:15 am. The passengers were welcomed by Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari, Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood, Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan, and officials from British High Commission and Aviation Division.

The decade-long hiatus has finally ended and the return of British Airways comes as great news for Pakistani expatriates in Great Britain as well as for international travelers. The Pakistanis are ecstatic at the return of Islamabad-Heathrow route and hashtag British Airways is trending on Twitter, showing the joy of our fellow countrymen.
