Pakistani brands are gradually getting the prestigious verified status on Facebook fan pages, a feature that is reserved for large brands and celebrities.
Mobilink, which just recently crossed 1 million fans on its Official Facebook fan-page, is the latest to become a verified brand on Facebook.
Over the period of last 2 months, Mobilink has been involved in customizing its digital media identity. Under the philosophy of ‘Being One’, Mobilink merged all its Facebook fan pages into the corporate brand’s fan-page ‘Mobilink.’ Twitter handles catering to various brands of Mobilink products were also consolidated into one Twitter handle, ‘Mobilink.’
From mid-June till mid-July 2013, Mobilink’s twitter following saw a massive growth to cross 10,000 followers. The number currently stands at over 16,000 followers.
Director Brand Communication & Media, Ali Murtaza commenting on the social media growth said,
“The massive growth in our social media followers and fans is a testimony to the fact that Mobilink extends its vision and inspiration of ‘Being One’ to its customers.
Social media is an important means for connecting directly with our public which gives us a chance to constantly bring improvement to our services and cater to our customer needs.”
Facebook page verification is one of the recent additions to Facebook features where it has started authenticating the global pages. Verified pages display small blue circles with a white check mark in the middle to indicate that identities have been confirmed.
The purpose is to curtail the growth of multiple fan pages that are not authentic or fail to represent any individual/group as the fan pages claim.
It merits mentioning here that Nokia Pakistan and Intel Pakistan were amongst the first brands from Pakistan to get verified page status on Facebook.
