The English Premier League is finally over and we all have our answers as Manchester City overpowered Brighton for a come-from-behind 4-1 win to finish one point ahead of Liverpool’s gargantuan 97 points. The Reds’ 97 points as runners up are the highest ever in any of Europe’s top 5 leagues.

The win helped City defend their title, winning the league two years in a row.

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola termed the title win his ‘toughest ever by far’. He further thanked Liverpool, helping them to raise their standard this season.

Pep has become only the third manager in history to win successive Premier League titles after Jose Mourinho and Sir Alex Ferguson.

Glenn Murray’s 27th-minute goal gave the visiting fans at Amex Stadium in Brighton a scare, however, City’s ruthless display of skills made sure that they secured a comfortable win in the end despite being 1-0 down.

On the other hand, Liverpool did their best to win the title, defeating Wolves thanks to the two goals by Sadio Mane, who ended up the joint winner of the Golden Boot with Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Liverpool’s Mohammad Salah. All three scored 22 goals in the season.
