International Islamic University, Islamabad has been ranked among the top 250 Universities by Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings overall, comprising ranking indicators including Teaching, Research, Citations, Industry Income, and International Outlook.

According to details, among all Pakistani universities that were considered for ranking by Times Higher Education, IIUI was ranked 3rd. In addition, IIUI secured 2nd position in terms of “International Outlook”. Under rankings criteria “Citations”, IIUI secured 3rd position among Pakistani universities.

The Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings uses 13 performance indicators that are grouped into five areas: teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income, and reputation); citations (research influence); international outlook (staff, students and research); and industry income (knowledge transfer). The 2020 ranking includes 500 universities from 30 territories.

Previously, Times Higher Education has also ranked IIUI among best universities in the University Impact Rankings, World University Rankings, and World University Rankings by Subject. This is the first time that International Islamic University participated and ranked in the Asia University Rankings.
