Instagram has unveiled a new feature which allows users to follow specific hashtags on their Instagram feeds. Following a specific hashtag will generate a highly relevant content feed for the users.
Hashtagging is one of the primary features of Instagram. People who upload pictures and videos on this photo-sharing social network prefer using #hashtags rather than writing long and boring captions. It is easier to address the purpose and speciality of the post with a hashtag.
If you’re a regular user of Instagram, then you might be familiar with hundreds of hashtag that circulate across the Facebook-owned platform like #blessed, #weekendvibes, #throwback, and many more.
With the new update, Instagram is treating hashtags as accounts. You can now follow your favorite hashtags on Instagram like you follow other Instagram accounts.
Once you follow a specific hashtag, the top posts from that hashtag will appear in your feed, and the latest stories with that hashtag will become the part of your stories bar. You can also unfollow a subscribed hashtag anytime you want.

In addition to that, you will also get suggestions of hashtags that your friends follow. The list of hashtags followed by you will also be displayed to your friends and other Instagram users. However, you can keep the visibility of the list to your followers by changing your Instagram account’s privacy.
