A fair few companies in Pakistan have stepped up in the recent days during the pandemic to present various goodwill gestures to the doctors community. From the automotive industry, Honda Atlas has stepped up to offer their piece as well.

In the recent news, Honda just announced an exclusive offer for the COVID-19 front-line workers. Based on the offer, if a person from the medical sector buys any variant of the new Honda Civic, City or BRV, he/she will be given 250 liters of free fuel refills. The offer has been made available for the first 100 bookings after the announcement and will be given on a first-come-first-served basis.

Although it is a good gesture on Honda’s part to the COVID-19 front-line workers who risk their well-being to tend to highly contagious patients, it is worth noting that the company had recently increased the prices of all their cars just a couple of months ago.

Plus, being that this offer is only available for the first 100 buyers, it is likely a strategic move by the automaker to compensate for the recent slump in sales figures caused by the pandemic.

In other news, right after the announcement of the 2020 budget, other automakers such as Toyota, Suzuki and Regal Automobiles also went on to increase the prices of their vehicles.

The reason for the price increase was said to be the depreciation of the local currency. Given these developments, it is being speculated that Honda Atlas is also likely to announce a second bump in the prices this year.
