A bomb blast was heard near Arfa Software Technology Park (ASTP) in Lahore. According to reports, 14 people have died with 19 more injured till the filing of this story.

The epicenter of the blast was at the vegetable market at Ferozepur road Lahore. The attack was aimed at the police officers stationed outside the market, according to DIG operations.

ASTP is the first technology park in Punjab and is the only IT park in existence. It houses several offices as well. Emergency personnel have arrived at the scene and are currently assisting the affectees.

The area around the blast as been sealed off and a bomb disposal squad was called to the scene. The blast has cracked the glass on the IT park. The metro bus service that operates near the area has been halted for the time being.

Mr. Umar later said that the building has been secured and everyone is safe at the ASTP.

The nature of the blast hasn’t been determined yet.

Update: The death toll is unconfirmed with various sources mentioning different numbers. Injured have been reported at 19 by several sources.
