Winter is here people, and fresh, cold winter winds have come to the cities close to the northern, hilly areas of Pakistan.

Azad Kashmir, Kasur, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and Lahore are some of the cities that will experience cold winds today.

Hilly areas like Murree and its surroundings are expected to have their first snowfall of the winters today as well. Northern mountains, including Nanga Parbat, Babusar Top, and Batogah Top are currently experiencing snowfall.

Rainfall Predicted in Many Parts

Starting today, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir are likely to experience rainfall according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) published forecast.

This Sunday, the Met Office also reported that rainfall is expected in many different parts of Pakistan. Till Wednesday, Northeastern areas of Upper Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, FATA, Islamabad, Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan may experience light or moderate rainfall.

The Tourist March

Like every winter, tourists are expected to rush towards the scenic hills, especially Murree, to see the first snow of the season.

A hotel owner who resides at Mall Road, Murree, Muhammad Luqman, says that its very likely for tourists to converge towards his city because of its beautiful winters. Tourists also prefer the place thanks to its close proximity to Islamabad – almost a one hour drive between the two places.

The area close to Lake View Park and the crowded town of Bharakahu at Murree Road will surely have a lot of traffic so people should plan their trips wisely.

The hill stations Point will all be crowded during the next week. According to hoteliers, resorts and hotels closer to the popular Mall Road, Ayubia, Pindi Point, and Kashmir Point have already started receiving bookings.
