Asim Shahryar Husain has joined Pakistan Software Export Board as its new Managing Director with immediate effect, said a statement issued by the board.

Asim is a technocrat and brings with him over 20 years of professional experience in technology marketing and business planning.

Prior to joining PSEB, he remained CEO of COMSATS Internet Services for four years and is well known for successfully restructuring the struggling ISP. During his tenure COMSATS Internet services grew its revenues by 80%.

He has worked in senior and strategic positions at Siemens, Oracle, IBM, Market first, IONA, LMKR, Transworld, and Wi-Tribe. He holds a BS in Computer Systems Engineering from Stanford University, California (1992) and an MBA in Marketing from Duke University, North Carolina (1998).

PSEB is currently undergoing tough time. It was headless for quite some time now and organization was virtually dysfunctional. Though Ministry of IT has put special focus on PSEB and it made special efforts to revive the institute but appointment of new MD is going to play a Vital role in taking PSEB back to track.

PSEB has said that newly appointed MD would be launching new initiatives to grow IT exports of Pakistan and to improve the perception of Pakistan as an attractive IT destination for outsourcing with a renewed push towards soliciting business for Pakistan’s talented IT industry.
